Comparing CAD Models
CAD model validation is the comparison of two CAD models to ensure they are effectively the same. Validation of derived (translated) models against the authority model is an important part of ISO standard quality procedures, and common industry requirements like Boeing Supplier Quality Assurance D6-51991.
When CAD data is exported from the authority CAD system and then imported into downstream software, unexpected translation errors are common. In a world where design tolerances are quite often specified at the level of a tens of micrometers, these early errors can be extremely costly later.
These issues should be detected at the source, before any downstream costs of translation error are incurred.
Using Capvidia’s CompareVidia technology is a quick, easy, and cost-effective way to do just that.
