Capvidia has expanded MBDConnect for Creo, a plug-in inside PTC Creo that helps engineers validate and prepare model-based definition data before it moves downstream.
The latest addition, MBD Ready Check, evaluates whether PMI is semantic, accurate, and machine-readable while engineers are still working inside Creo.
It identifies issues such as:
- Missing or incorrect feature references
- Non-semantic annotations
- Incorrect datums, orientation, or grouping
- Mismatched feature counts
- Unstable references to edges or auxiliary geometry
- Nominal values that do not match the model
For certain findings, MBD Ready Check can also apply an automatic repair when the correct solution is clear.
Two Checks, One Stronger Model
MBD Ready Check complements the existing Engineering Checker within MBDConnect for Creo.
Engineering Checker validates Creo models against an organization’s internal requirements, including:
- Modeling practices
- Annotations and symbols
- Combined states and layers
- Parameters and naming conventions
- Dimensions and assembly conditions
- Company-specific engineering standards
Its rules can be configured to reflect each organization’s requirements and workflows.
Together, the two checks answer two important questions:
Does the model follow our engineering standards?
Can downstream systems correctly understand and reuse its PMI?
Catch Problems at the Source
Finding MBD issues during design helps reduce repeated exports, manual validation, downstream interpretation, and avoidable rework.
Engineers can review findings, highlight affected geometry, correct the model, and run the checks again—all without leaving Creo.
The result is better model quality, stronger semantic PMI, and more reliable data for manufacturing, inspection, and automation.
