Automatic optimization in FlowVision HPC

Complex optimization problems can now be efficiently addressed with FlowVision HPC and IOSO NM solver. IOSO NM solver is a multi-purpose optimization solver for optimization of complex technical systems and technological processes. IOSO NM handles large dimension real-life problems defined with multi-criteria and multi-parameters:

  • up to 20 independent criteria or objectives
  • up to 100 independent design variables

An optimal solution can be obtained in a minimum time. The simulation process is fully automatic. The integration with FlowVision is illustrated on an example aimed at optimization of a steel nitrogen-hardening installation. A steel detail to be hardened is placed in a chamber and submitted to hot nitrogen stream supplied through 11 nozzles. The optimization task is to find optimal locations for nozzles and determine optimal gas velocity to obtain uniform temperature distribution on the surface of the detail.
