Capvidia to Participate in QIF™ V2.0 Draft Standard Demonstration at IMTS 2014
Booth E-5200 Pavilion: Quality Assurance
Leuven, Belgium – August 25, 2014 – Capvidia announces that it will participate in the QIF V2.0 Draft Standard demonstration as part of the Dimensional Metrology Standards Consortium, Inc. (DMSC) during the IMTS show September 8-13, 2014 at the McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. As part of the DMSC demo, Capvidia will convert 3D MBD models from native CAD systems directly into QIF format. The QIF model generated by Capvidia will then be used by DMSC metrology vendors to show complete interoperability while maintaining complete and accurate product definition with various conformance levels of semantic PMI (e.g., GD&T). The demonstrations will be held Tuesday-Friday at the DMSC booth at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at Booth E-5200 at IMTS.
On December 19th, 2013, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved QIF V1.0 as an American National Standard. This new standard covers the digital interoperability needs for a wide variety of use cases including feature-based dimensional metrology, quality measurement planning (QIF Plans), first article inspection (QIF Results), and discrete quality measurement. QIF models include quality characteristics and measurement features as defined in the ASME Y14.5 specification and the Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMIS).
